everything sparkled. the staff was amazing, always attentive and thoughtful. the beach was wide, boasting comfortable sunbeds, and the seashore was pristine with few people. free beach activities were available. i also enjoyed the water refills on the beach, flowers on the bed, and the hotel mist. i had a very nice time there.

Language barriers caused some miscommunications. This was a small frustration.

Pimalai is visually lovely, i have to say. the staff are excellent, i think. everything has a high quality here. it gets hard to decide what pool to sit around. i especially loved the trip out to koh haa. It was a highlight of my trip.

the hillside view is picturesque, but the villa interiors seemed somewhat dated. the showers have simple taps, so i have to adjust to avoid being scalded.

our stay felt underwhelming for the price compared to other 5-star hotels i have visited in thailand. the villa interiors seemed dated. for example, the showers had simple hot & cold taps without a thermostatic mixer, i constantly adjusted to avoid being scalded. the doors were temperamental and didn't always latch.
